Our Best Answer : BRUIN Connect FAQs

Below is a list of frequently asked questions you may have about BRUIN Connect. If your question is not answered here, contact [email protected].

Q. What is BRUIN Connect?
A. BRUIN Connect is the name of Bellevue University Single Sign On access dashboard. It is based on a platform called Okta, but has been branded BRUIN Connect for our campus community.

Q. Will all my BU apps and websites be available inside BRUIN Connect?
A. Initially, your BRUIN Connect access dashboard will include chicklets that you can click for instant access to the apps and websites you use frequently – like Blackboard, EZProxy Library and Gartner resources. More applications – including BRUIN and Office365 – will be added soon.

You can also create your own personal apps and bookmarks for sites. For example, you can add your social media logins to a tab in BRUIN Connect and access them easily from the same dashboard.

Q. Why can’t I access BRUIN and Office365 through the dashboard?
A. To ensure we do not adversely impact functionality, we are taking additional time to configure the software with the vendor. BRUIN and Office365 are expected to be available inside BRUIN Connect in the near future.

Q. What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
A. Multi-Factor Authentication, or MFA, provides a second layer of security to your login, requiring extra information or a physical device to log in to a system, in addition to your password. By requiring two different forms of authentication, we can better protect your information from remote attacks.

Q. What is Single Sign On?
A. Single Sign On is just what it sounds like – the ability to sign in once and be able to access multiple applications and websites with a single set of login credentials.

Q. How can I easily get to the BRUIN Connect access dashboard?
A. The BRUIN Connect access dashboard is available at https://bruinconnect.bellevue.edu/.

It is a good idea to favorite or bookmark this address on your browser so you can find it again easily.

Q. Do I have to use BRUIN Connect?
A. Yes, your BRUIN Connect account will have to be set up in order for you to access Bellevue University systems. BRUIN Connect will be part of the authentication process and will help keep your login information more secure while allowing you to access the sites and apps you use most often with a single login.

Q. How do I activate my BRUIN Connect account?
A. Just watch this brief video tutorial.

Q. I already save my passwords in my browser and can log into sites quickly. Why do I need BRUIN Connect?
A. The BRUIN Connect access dashboard provides more security and is a very effective way to thwart attacks on weak or stolen passwords. Also, the visual dashboard makes it easy to see, find and access the tools you use most often.

Q. How do I reset my password?
A. From the login page, click on “Need help signing in?” The additional email and phone number you entered as an account recovery method upon initial login may be used in this process.

Three consecutive invalid login attempts using incorrect credentials within a five-minute period will result in a user being locked out of their account for 10 minutes.

If you are logged into BRUIN Connect and wish to reset your password, you simply click on your name in the top right and then click on “Settings. Please note that if you have not set up your BRUIN Connect account previously, these recovery options will not work. You will need to contact [email protected].
