Mathx Lab

Explore mathematics in this convenient and collaborative lab environment, as you participate in-person or virtually. You’ll enjoy support from tutors and math faculty, the latest media and technologies, and learning techniques that promote personalized learning and the option to work at your own pace.

When you arrive at the MathX you’ll find a relaxed space where you can feel comfortable as you problem-solve with friends. Smart boards and virtual connections? We have those. iPads and Apple TV? We have those, too. Soft, cuddly puppies and kittens? We love ‘em. You may even see one or two visit occasionally.

  • Interactive – Throw aside your preconceived ideas about Math class and come join in an interactive course or activity in-person, or via virtual interaction.
  • Hands-on – All 100-level on campus courses meet in the MathX space. Daytime courses include an activity day and lab day. Evening course sessions divide their time between activities and lab work.
  • Activity Days – Feature use of tablets with connectivity to large screens; work collaboratively with others on activities including problem solving and games.
  • Lab Days – Lab time allows you to work on assignments either with other students or alone, and ask questions of your professor and/or tutors.
  • Online Students – If you are an online student you will be able to participate in activities from a distance either directly with another student, or connecting to the classroom via Adobe Connect©.
  • Tutoring OptionsTutoring is available either in-person at the MathX or via Adobe Connect©, by appointment.
